A number of camera features which debuted on the Galaxy Note 10 series are now being made available to those with a Galaxy S10 smartphone through a software update that’s already begun rolling out in Europe. What does it bring to the table you ask? A bunch of usable features like Night Mode support for the front-facing camera, enhanced Super Steady video stabilization, bokeh effects in Live Focus mode and even AR Doodle.
Basically, every new feature debuted on the Galaxy Note 10 duo is now available on the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e and the Galaxy S10+.
Features that are now available on the Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup
Live Focus: This was a feature was already available on the Galaxy S10, but an improved version of the feature was introduced with the Note 10 and that now trickles down to the S10 series.
Live Focus Video: This is another feature which wasn’t available on the Galaxy S10 lineup prior to the update. As the name suggest, this feature allows your phone to artificially apply a background blur to your subject which works in real time as your subject. Not the most accurate in our usage, but its certainly a fun feature to try out.
Night Mode for front camera: This feature caters to those who love taking selfies at clubs and concert (or rather any low-light situation). Not a lot of OEM’s have a Night Mode for the selfie camera and this addition is a definite bonus.
AR Doodle: The Galaxy S10 series, obviously doesn’t feature an S Pen, but its nice to get a chance at playing around with Samsung’s AR Doodle feature which lets you play around with a bunch of cool filters.
Super Steady: Super Steady gets an update with thi new update, providing better Hybrid Stabilization for video.
The update also introduces the latest security patch and Dex for PC support. Galaxy S10 users will have the Link to Windows app that syncs the phone with a Windows-powered PC. This will allow messaging apps, notifications, photos, and other features found on the Galaxy S10 to appear on the computer display. Galaxy S10 owners who download the app from SamsungDeX.com will be also be able to launch DeX for PC or Macs by using a USB cable to connect their phone to the computer.
